Fun in the EXTREMELY HOT SCORCHING MISERABLE sun!!

We had our "farewell to summer" play date today with Jessica and Taylor. First we had lunch at the Cadillac Bar........L and Taylor enjoyed running around screaming at the creepy birds while Jessica and I enjoyed our overpriced lunch!!

$6.00 for kids mac & cheese...made with "food stamp cheese" as Jessica said.too funny!!..and yes...it was mighty tasty...YUCK!!:)

This was a picture before the running, screaming, sweating and feeding the fish and birds tortilla chips...They were sweaty messes after lunch..ready to head to the fountains to cool off...

Double Trouble!


L and Taylor decided to spend most of their water time in this little cess pool of water...they were "swimming" in it..AND drinking the water...YUCK!!! Jessica and I meanwhile were melting as we watched on the sidelines...gotta love that Texas heat!!

We had a FUN but HOT day...after playing in the fountains we had ice cream at Marble Slab... then headed to Wal-Mart where each of the girls had their own little meltdown.:) Gotta love 3 year olds when they are tired.:)

I'm hoping this isn't the style for L's Senior Pictures! MDO will begin on Tuesday! It's hard to believe that the summer is already gone, but I know L is excited about going back to "school"! Stay tuned for her first day of school photos!.:)

We had a lunch date with Taylor and Jessica(Fri. 8/15)..L saw Paw-Paw's monkey birthday card in the back of my car...and the monkey was just wearing panties(hhmm..do they?!) SO, she decided she and Taylor needed to strip down to their panties to be monkeys too!

See...that's how you get two crazy girls...in panties....acting like Monkeys as they run and giggle down the sidewalk!

Operation "Paw-Paw's Birthday"...complete!

After Icees, pit stops, animals and more....we made it to Luling on Thursday night....we had a girl's slumber party in the garage apartment! Clara and L finally went to sleep at midnight....the rest of us stayed up until 1:30 a.m. Everyone was excited to be together for a slumber party

Celebrating with Johnny at Chili's...the waitress brought him a chocolate shake and sang happy birthday to him....

Road trip DeToUr...

We decided to take a little detour before going to Paw-Paw's...

We went to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch...and yes,

it was HOT!!!

After paying a month's salary to get in...ok, not that much...but $16.50 per adult, and $8.50 per child........when you are all seeing the same thing..and driving your own vehicle...go figure?! and purchasing 19 bags of food..to go with the one "free" bag....and of course, the tour wouldn't have been complete without the purchase of the Guide Book...so we knew what we were looking at....

we were off on our "safari"...

L got pretty hot...so she decided she needed to tour in just her panties...the animals didn't seem to mind!

How neat...this baby zebra started nursing right outside our window...that was worth the month's salary!!

A crazy ostrich!! They were mean..and kind of aggressive eaters...Clara was sitting on Mangie's lap, but screamed, jumped, honked, knocked the wipers on, and bumped the car into reverse....to escape ...it was funny...Mangie must have tasted better than the food..the Ostrich nipped at her finger ...OUCH!

THERE WAS ALSO A PETTING ZOO.....EMMA AND I WAITED IN THE CAR...WHILE THE OTHERS WENT TO FEED THE ANIMALS!
